just got my SAT scores

they were posted online yesterday, full report wont be available till the first.
Verbal: 590
Math: 640
Writing: 500
the overall score isnt posted, but i assume it would be 1730, i guess i didnt do so great on the writing, but i still dont think that colleges are really taking that in to any sort of consideration, whatever, i dont know if i want to retake it or not. i still have a while to decide

but if i remember correctly the overall score on the SAT has to end with 0's.

So i assume your estimate is 1700 instead of 1730. Good job..

i dont know about good job, i am kinda pissed, but i think its gonna be good enough to get into purdue, hopefully good enough to get into engineering

You'll be alright man, 1700 out of a 2400 is good. As long as you averaged a good GPA.

i think colleges are going to look at writing more for you, because they will have stuff to compare it to. for me, and everyone else that graduated this year, they had nothing to compare it to, so they didnt count it (douchebags, because i got 11/12 on the essay!)
i took them twice, without opening a single sAT guide or anything, and had a best score of 1910. it is looked at as around 1300. anywhere above 1700 is looked at as being good. you also have plenty of time to study, and raise your score even more.

and the SATs arent everything. try to maintain a 3.5-4.0 GPA. if you go to a public school, try to stay closer to 4.0, and you should be able to get into any college you want!

I got a 1770, but I'm going to a community college so it really doesn't matter to me. It all really depends on how much the colleges you are looking at use the SAT scores for admission purposes.

thats not bad at all really. i got a 1600 but im also going to UTI so i didnt really try on mine. what you got is like getting around a 1230 on the old SAT's so really thats not bad at all

i took the psat my junior year (this past year) and got a 1930 or somethin.. i thought it was pretty good considerin i didnt study at all or anything... do yall take the act too? around here thats looked at more than the sat

i'm not sure where my psat scores are, but i remember that they pretty much did not relate to the sat scores, at all.

PSAT scores are in the form of a percentage, its the only accurate way to score them. they tell you an estimate of what the score would be if it was the SATs, but its not really accurate, because its a range.

yea.. they were all 2 digit numbers... our guidance counselor said add a zero to the end of each number and that was like the real sat scoring

ACT is looked at more here also. Its pretty much coastal schools that will be looking at the SAT and middle states look at the ACT, but its not in stone. I got a 25 on my ACT and that was more than good enough to get me into Mizzou :tup: i'm sure i could get in the high 20s but its a waste for me to take now.
