Another friend had an 03 identical to the one in Question's picture and then traded it for a blue 04, but I can't find the pictures I have of our cars together.

He ran a 13.9 with I think a 2.3 60' and I didn't get below high 15s. It was his first time driving a stick at the track so he was just launching from idle. The car wasn't more than couple months old and bone stock. We tried going to the track again last weekend (the 13.9 was over a year ago and he added a K&N intake and Bassani mufflers), but they're enforcing the helmet requirements now and he doesn't have one yet.

me three. only ones that are worth they're salt tho. I look down on GT's cuz they're so weak. the new ones are OK with 300 but IMO i think they shoulda put a bigger motor in it still. Ford's doing the right thing with the way they're diversifying the mustang tho. i went to a dealership to pick up some parts for my job and i parked by the mustangs and there were so many different kinds! you got the SVT ones, the 6ers the GT's, Roush is in on it, Saleen's there too, the GT500. theres plenty to choose from! Hopefully GM will have some good sense and start putting more variety in the lineup when the new camaro comes out. and hopefully they'll kill off that heresy of a GTO. Its a Grand Prix with rediculous horsepower. Screw that! Look at mustangs and vettes and f-bodies. they all LOOK like sports cars. not the GTO. its a 2 door family sedan. it spits on the GTO grave. Now if they had a BRAIN, they'd bring back the GTO on the caddy XLR chassis with a northstar or LS2 or even the LS4 they have in the new impalas.
sorry fer the rant, but this thread must live on!

I disagree, they might be watered down a little from the factory but I have about $1000 worth performance mods if that and i'm running low-mid 13s without my nitrous. Obviously if you did the same to a v8 fbody you'd be even faster since they come faster out the factory but considering the sizes of the 2 engines I would hardly call a GT weak.
in my defense:
the mustang didnt look that much different from a GTO back in the day...
the other thing is ya took me wrong on the looking down on GT's thing. Yeah, i meant from the factory they're too watered down. 260hp then to 300 in the latest generation adn the 4th gen f-bodies r still more powerful... i dont wanna sound like i'm hatin on them or anything, cuz i know that it doesnt take too much to get those things going crazy fast. but i was just talking about how slow they are for having v-8s stock.

yea I agree the 2004 GT runs high 14s according to car and driver 14.8 to be exact from the factory which is horrible for a v8.
Hey everyone! I've been trying to remove my transmission for two days now! I need to replace the clutch. Only thing I've got left holding the transmission...
Hello, so I changed the front bearings on the bird and the ABS inoperative light came on. I made a mistake of not removing negative battery cable. Now...
I usually have to double, triple my headlight switch for them to come up on my 97 Firebird. I cleaned all connections. Could it be the headlight switch...
