    Werd, both 4th gen. V6s can last forever if taken care of.

    I'm not the original owner of mine, but the woman who owned it before me missed it so much she bought another Firebird.

                        Really the only things have been replaced is the normal stuff like shocks (suspension in general), MANY alternators, tires, tail light sockets, battery, 2 timing chains, a few water pumps, a/c compressor, a few surpintene belts, plugs, wires, fuel filter, and I replaced the transmission at 221k due to OD going out.

                        Other than that, the original engine is still so smooth and strong at 243,720...I've got a misfire now....but I just need to shake that one down.

                              Any car can last if it is well taken care of. No reason to be doing rebuilds if the car has its regular maintenece throughout the lifespan of the vehicle.

                              I got a '95 with 128k on it, but blown head gasket is cause for a top end rebuild.
