Oops, the plastic part on my switch broke and it no longer will make contact to roll up my window! That's not the bad part. It is going to rain all this week so I need a replacement FAST. You guys have any places you know where I can get a replacement switch? It's a 98 Camaro.

P.S. Autozone wants freaking $20 and they don't have them in stock so they would have to ship it.

P.S.S. I would have asked this in the general forum, but because I need an answer before it rains, I thought I would put this in a more populated forum (hope yall don't mind). I'll delete this if I get an answer.

    2 things:
first, 20 bucks aint that bad for an OEM switch
second, if your in a bad rush, take out the switch, and either pull on the wires to get the metal end out or cut a bit of insulation off and touch two wires together to get the thing to roll up for now. i dont know which wire is which so you'll hafta guess. use a continuity tester or sumthign to figure it out.

I also happen to need a passenger switch as well. It seems silly to pay $40 for 2 switches.

you dont need to cut the wires, just take a length of wire and strip the ends and use it as a jumper, roll the windows up for now, just do some trying, i dont think you can mess anything up, they are on a breaker, so you arent going to constantly pop fuses, then get to a junk yard when you can

Plus, I wish it was that easy. The driver side switch controls the driver side and pasenger side window. The pasenger switch only controls the pasenger. The switches don't plug into the wires.

ok, that didnt make any sense, if you think the switches were permenantly attached to the wires you are wrong, pull those plastic thingys that all the wires go into that are on the bottom of the switch, voila, they pop right off, and you have easy access to terminals

so... I just get a wire and randomly connect it from point to point on a terminal?

I Called O'Reilies, Auto Zones and Napas yesterday. O'Rilies and Autozone don't carry the switch anymore and Napa doesnt have one in any of the stores or in the Houston warehouse. They found one in Tampa, but I would have to pay a freight charge and wait until the end of the week for them to get it in their store. I will try the dealerships on Monday.
