since i put my rksport front gfx on my car has been running alot hotter than normal, yes i did put the longer air dam on that came with kit before it ran at 190 all day long and now it's like 210-212 while running down the freeway. some people think thats not too bad but it's gonna start getting real hot here in vegas soon and i dont want to hurt anything, anybody else have this problem, if so how did you fix it? i'm thinking about just buying a rs front lip and replacing it but would rather not spend another 200-300 dollars. sombody told me to use a dremel and cut a couple of air holes in the front said he did and it looked great, but damn you only get one chance at that and if you screw up:eek:

Make a manual fan switch, it will help... check my cardomain link.. one of the pages there is a write up on how to do it, its easy and cheap...
Quite a few people from here have done this from my write up.
    Itll bring temps down.

you could try a manual fan switch, but if youre overheating with an extended air dam, id venture that something else is wrong. before you go drilling it up, id suggest removing the front ground effect for a few days and make sure that the problem doesnt lie somewhere else.

a coolant flush and some water wetter are also nice quick fixes for a lot of overheating problems.

before i got them painted i put them on for a few days so i put the rksport airdam on, when i took the gfx back off i left the air dam on there and the temp ran just below 190. i am really dissapointed at the quilty of the airdam it is not made of hard plastic like stock but the same stuff as the rest of the gfx but a lot thinner, if i grab the end of it and hold it up striaght up it will fold itself in half, i ended up putting the stock one one behind it to stiffen it up but that seems to not be solving my problem. ok a couple of questions if you guys don't mind....
about a fan switch...the ac gets ran all the time-113 degrees here last week, so shouldnt my fans be running all the time anyway???

about a lower t-stat- if the rad is not getting enough air blowing on it would a lower t-stat do any good, i think that once my t-stat opens it stays open until i shut down and it cools off, i havent worked on cooling systems too much so i could be wrong, but i think thats how it goes. wouldnt a 160 t-stat just give me a little longer before the temp goes up that high again?? if i;m wrong please tell me.
another thing...is 210 degrees way too hot or not, reguardless of what the answer is i'm changing somthing . i'm just asking because it makes me a little nervous when it gets that high.

i think before i cut this thing i will just get an rs lip and maybe i can sell the rk one. if i cut it and mess it up then i;m stuck with it
sorry for the long post and thanks for your help
