I shift my Camaro sometimes without using the clutch, and doesn't grind. I had ot learn how do shift without a clutch on my old truck cuz it would randomnly go out.

      Re: double clutch

Mmmmm... the old days. This reminded me of something i read about formula one.. and how they had to do the old double declutch thing back before the 70s.

Heres Jackie Stewart in action behind the wheel of a Matra around Zandvoort in 1966: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGUnK...arch=zandvoort

Now heres Patrick Tambay in a Mclaren doing the same circuit 12 years later, no more double clutching for him... notice how much quicker the shifts are: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kp64C...arch=zandvoort

And finally here Jarno Trulli in what looks like a benetton/renault doing a lap of the Hungaroring. Hes got a "semi automatic" sequential gearbox, that'll shift faster than you can think about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAR5W...one%20in%20car

we have several 2 speed axled trucks.. we usually take off in low and keep it in low til the last gear then shift into high..... thats with a empty truck tho.. if its full than its a little more complicated... lol
