I would explain my situation but that is kinda boring and long. Basically, best job to have while in college that pays decent for a student job...like 8 bucks??? I know there are tons of places...but I can't really focus on a certain type of place I want to work. Anyone have any opinions of good or bad places?

Re: Need a new job...
If you like cars and know some stuff about them (basic trouble shooting, what every part does, etc) try gettin a job at a local car parts store. I did this to pay for bills in college... I worked at Autozone.. they are very flexible with hours, and they are open long hours, so you have more chances to work. Plus youll learn a lot about cars from dealing with them all day...Phill

95 camaro... need money for turbo project...
94 S10 Blazer - winter beater - infinity system to be installed soon

\"The man who says it cant be done should not interrupt the man doing it...\"

I have some friends who made more money than I did but you do have to put up with the big boss and customers.

Re: Need a new job...
you won't get $8 an hour starting off, but I will always say a movie theatre.
Free movies(cheap entertainment for you and friends when you want to do stuff but not blow any money)
pretty flexble schedule, most of your work is nights and weekends. Usually doesn't even open till noon so you don't have to be at work till like 11am if you like sleeping in.
Slow times are during the school years, during normal operating hours and school hours.
busy times are thanksgiving-new years and the summer. And friday nights- sunday mornings. (Regal is open 365 days a year unless its an evacuation zone)
This is great if you have a full schedule of classes during the week. And the best part? You don't really work that hard. Its an easy *** job. Just won't pay as well as places. Alot of jobs when you say you have class at 2 on Mon wed and fri, get pissed.
But from what I know of Ups? no thank you. Local one you work 5 days a week 5 hour shifts, 10pm-3am is the starter shift. so 5 days and you only get 25 hours? And for those 25 hours I am sure you will feel like you worked a 60 hour week at a movie theatre.Last edited by shenanigans; 07-20-2006, 12:45 PM.-Eric
2000 NBM V6 Camaro 5-speed T-top converted
14.467@95.45mph $0 in mods
The member formerly known as MustangEater8251

Re: Need a new job...
dont ever tell a potential part time job that you could leave in 2 months. tell them you are going to college, and you have a few years left and need to make ends meet. And that you will probably be stayin there over the summers. once you get in, you can figure out the rest. If you get into a car parts place, its ok.. most of them are cool about stuff like breaks and stuff. and after you've worked there a few months, if htey like you, they'll understand things like summer vacation. You might even be able to transfer home to a different store for summer. And if nto and they get rid of you come summertime, no big deal. Once you have experience selling car parts, any of the big chains will hire you.. so you could bounce around to a new store every year.... I personally recommend it. Hell, i'm still working Autozone and i've graduated college. I work nights and weekends after my other job and its nice to have some extra cash... good luck with what you find...Phill

95 camaro... need money for turbo project...
94 S10 Blazer - winter beater - infinity system to be installed soon

\"The man who says it cant be done should not interrupt the man doing it...\"
