Hey guys, I've done some researched and joined their forum and... wow... I have never run into such a stockpile of such rude, mean, crass idiots. There's one or two that have tried to help but just read the crap they spew on there...
Man... now that is an example of a terrible forum. If I were a mod there I'd have already banned at least 1 or 2 people in that thread.

So basically you're giving me a generalized brandname prejudice but no informational backing.... -_-'.
I need some logical backing, and about this specific car. The 3000GT is a car you don't see around much but has a really nice body which I like. Please give me more info than that you just don't like foreign cars.
Thanks.
as i recall in your originial(sp?) post, you asked for general OPINIONS. i gave you mine. period :wavey:

A friend at work has one. Its a VR4, and when he got it (for 8kish), with 180,000 miles on it, it put down 250AWHP. I guess hes been modding it out for a couple years now, and i haven't really heard him complain, except when his spoiler motor broke and he ended up just cutting the whole thing off.
Oh and as for the sound: He's running borlas and it sounds really nice, not ricey at all.

I think they are a dam good looking car but the trannies suck and they are not that fast. The VR4's haul balls but they are grossly expensive (the ones I have seen for sale anyway).
My cousin has one. over 100k on the car. He had some transmission problems. I noticed that at bottom end that my stock camaro was faster but he has better at high speeds. The car handle pretty good. He said it had some kind of button that you could push to make the suspension more stiff for handling purposes or something. Over-all I like the cars, but don't know how long they will last compared to the 3800 series.
seems like I see that at meets, and they have that traditional old tired Chrylserl motor "tick" sound.
They are heavy plus AWD which equals lots of drivetrain stress and AWD = expensive drivetrain parts.
Not trying to hate on imports, I love the 3000GT, nissan 300Z as well but in my opinion, they are freaking money pits. I'd buy an lt1 camaro first. Not being biased but I honestly think you would put less money into a high mileage beat on lt1 then you would a 3000GT or Nissan 300Z.
and I will be the first to say that lt1s can be money pits as well.

btw how much do you think you have to spend. I have seen a few 99-04 GTs with like 60-80k miles for under $10k.
and there is also the occasional LS1 deal around, but you can get some nice one pretty easily for like $12-14k

I know everyone is suggesting a VR-4 but I would shy away from them. For one, I am pretty sure VR-4's were only produced in 5 or 6 spd's, no automatics. I remember from your first post you didn't want a manual. The second reason is the VR-4's are AWD and 4 wheel steering. They are much more expensive then the N/A ones to buy and will cost you big bucks if something fails... They sound like a hell of a car though.
The SL's and regular models are great looking cars. I wouldn't buy them for speed, but on looks and handling only. I know a 3.8 will give the N/A ones a run for their money, but you probably aren't looking so much for speed.
If you can find a low mileage SL, then go for it. I'd avoid that AWD AWS crap with the big price tag.
99 RS Camaro. Sorry :P Didn't mean to rag on you, I just assumed you'd give some information! lol
UDLOSE - I'll definitely check out that GTP! They aren't as sporty as I'd like, but heck, if they're powerful and they have 3800 engines (man those engines ROCK) and could save me a buck or two... it could be nice.

GTPs are very kickass. Awesome protential, even more so than a v6 f body.
Just a thought, if your looking for something quick and for a decent price, have you checked out any older turbo supras? like 87-92ish? Or even 300zx's? you Can find those for a good price too sometimes.
