are these worth getting? cost is about 50.00 i know they got to be better than chilton or hanyes, but are they really gonna help a novice like me or are they really just for the pro's, is it just a bunch of tech stuff that im not rally going to understand or are they really useful for around the house, thanks

    Re: service manuals

its what the guys at the dealership used (now its all computerized). haynes/chiltons is geared more towards the guy with basic tools and who doesnt know some of the finer points of tech work. hell, for 50 bucks i'd get it. i'd have a haynes on hand too just for good measure but teh service manual covers just about EVERYTHING on the car. might even have symptom flowcharts if you're lucky.

The factory manuals are the best for the Camaro. You don't have to be an experienced mechanic to use them either, they take you step by step with schematics and illustrations. $50 is pretty good - I think I got my set (3 books) for around $40-$50 off Ebay.

They might not be useful around the house, but they'll probably help you out a bit with your car.
