Re: What's the dumbest thing you have ever done, car related?
i was driving an 04 accord while looking for an fbody. i was going 120 down a really steep road that was like a series of bumps. i had a friend in the car with me, towards the bottom of the road, i hit a bump and got all 4 wheels off the ground, right before an almost 90* curve, where there was a stop sign. the brakes locked up, and somehow i managed to get the car under control. (i didnt stop at the stop sign though :p)
in my car, i was driving through my neighborhood, going the speed limit, and some guy in a grand prix GT ran a stop sign, so i had to slam on my brakes, and then he proceeded to drive like 25 above the limit. i got pissed off, and honked at him, and tried to get him to stop so i could ask wtf he was thinking. he sped up, so did it. it ended up with me riding his bumper, almost 75 mph through my quiet neighborhood, for about half an hour, with him trying to lose me.
ive never streetraced my car, i dont like going above 95 on the highway with it, and i dont drive recklessly in traffic. i respect the power, and speed, and just relax, and cruise.
(i've raced too many cars to list in my moms honda pilot though!)

I drove 35,000 miles in my car...without insurance or a license, for two years. Stupid, yes, lucky, yes.
BTW, I didn't get pulled over till one day before I was to get my license back. Got the car impounded three counties from mine. PITA to get it back, but now I am legal.

eh I was working as an Basic Skills tech and I was going an oil change, and well I wasn't paying attention, and I pulled the tranny plug not the oil pan plug, and let the whole thing drain, then put more oil in before it slapped me in the face... So back up the car went to fix that issue... Worst part, I even spaced the oil filter...
Thats what happens when you put partying before work..

worst garage story? when i put on my eibach springs, i couldnt get the nut off the top of the passenger shock. took it to a place and had the spring switched out but they busted teh shock (it was like 80k miles old anyways) and i had to buy a new one and a new mount. so i went to put it back in and i cross threaded one of the damn bolts on the mount. the smart thing woulda been to get the thing off and rethread the bolt. but i was really p/o'd so i just cut the bolt off, drilled a hole thru my shock tower sheet metal and put another bolt in. its still that way today LOL.

-a few days ago actually, i was changing my headers and i dropped a bolt right down the y pipe. i spent hours snaking a shop vac down the y-pipe and i finally sucked that stupid thing out.
-also, last time i changed the transmission fluid, i put the gasket on wrong and had transmission fluid all over the garage floor the next day.
-i was using the stock scissors jack and an impact wrench to lift the car :D, i had my hand right near the scissors jack, and i had the wrench on loosen and not tighten. i hid the trigger and dam near took my finger off. the jack slammed shut, and shot across the yard.
-i was spraying pb blaster on some bolts under the car, and didnt have glasses on. dropped a bit right on my eye and thought i was going to go blind.
-same as above, but with fuel working on the fuel filter
-smoothing out some body work with an angle grinder and no glasses, got a shard in my eye. that hurt
