do they rent the death wish too? My brother only had his head taken off my a spring that came apart. ef doing that again.
almost had his head taken off, or he did have it taken off? ?
Cant say that they do rent a death wish.
Ive done springs several times on cars and used the manual spring compressor and never had a problem, or a close call... usually takes common sense to work with tools.
but i guess you can get hurt using any tools if your enough of an idiot.
my friend and i just did everything you had done in under 12 hours last weekend.:)
it really pays to do it yourself, and not just in money saved.
i also never found spring compressors to be all that deadly. never had a problem either time. one time we didnt even use em to get the new spring together. one of us pushed down on the upper mount while the other got the nut on. of course that was a little stupid, but it worked. and saved a ton of time.

pepboys is where all the bad mechanics go. the ones who dont know what they're talking about and cant land a real job at a reputable shop or dealership. they have little training and are usually quite shady as well as pretty incompitant. the only thing my car goes to pepboys for is inspection cuz its only $50. i dont even do that anymore tho cuz im one of those mechanics who are mechanicly inclided and have the compitance to land a real job at a reputable shop. moral of the story steer far far away from pepboys. you could have payed the same if not less to have that done at a shop that would ahve actually done it right for you

$50 for inspection and emissions. the shop i work at charges $54 just for emissions alone cuz of how expensive the machines are. state inspection is a set $18 all through the state
