  • what a day...

ok, so today i made my first visit to the local racetrack. omg... watching camaros and 'vettes actually race full out was amazing to say the least. it's a roadrace track so it was even cooler watching them all take the turns at like 60mph. there was one guy there with a C5 that was just incredible. spent a few hours there talkin with the racers, then went home and got outta the heat for a few hours, then hightailed it over to a car cruise that had been running all day to meet one of my buddies from college. Last year he bought a 1970 chevy nova with a 396 in it. ripped that out and dropped in a bored out 454. it had a 3 speed and a ratchet shifter with 4.10's in the back. had fatass street radials on it. those things didnt do crap cuz the torque on the thing was AMAZING. he was burning rubber all thru 3rd gear. i've never been in a big block car b4 and all i can say is friggin WOW. i've never felt something pull so hard. i've driven vettes b4, i've ridden in a bunch of trans ams and all that... nothing compared to what he could put down. we met up with my car club here and the president raced him with his SS. he was going full tilt w/ no spin and we were just about sideways when we were passing him. when my friend opened it up, all you could feel was the whole car just slam to the right side. i'm so psyched right now. best... day... ever!

dont worry, i've been done waiting for quite a few years now :p
lol i just remembered. the kid works for jimmy johns subs. if you dont know, they deliver and their tag line is "subs so fast you'll freak". so when he rolls up at peoples houses with an 11 second nova, people always start asking him if they're that serious about thier food

he uses a 1970 Nova as a delivery car? I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry.

Sounds like a great day. Racing, car cruises, ...very cool.
