• My "new" car got hit.

    Yes, folks, I am the same guy who just started the thread about my new to me 99 Firebird below. Well, now just 2 days later it got hit by a lady who is too short to drive a big truck.:rant: I was doing an oil change on my wife's car when she called and said, "I have bad news." I knew what that meant. I am usually a person who doesn't get bent out of shape, unless it has to do with my car. The lady backed out of her driveway and right into my car. Damaged the front driver's side fender...cracked it, and its pushed in so I can't open the door. I drove it straight to the autobody place that I like, which is fortunately on her insurance company's preferred list. Hopefully it doens't take too long to get fixed. Just wanted to share my story. The only plus is that she was a nice enough lady to come and tell us, rather than hit and run. I almost feel bad that the cop who came to file the accident report gave her a ticket. Oh well, right, at least I don't have to pay for it myself.

    Almost the exact thing happened to my Bird Saturday night, only I was parked the other way, so she got my passenger side quarter and rear bumper. But I don't know how I'll be paying for it, since insurance might be a ***** to go through. I don't have collision, and my name isn't on my parent's policy.

    It sucks, I try so hard not to have anything happen to the car, but **** happens. At least yours is getting fixed right away, mine might stay like it is until I can come up with the money to fix it myself.

            let me touch your car....

            it'll eat pushrods fo sho. AND... the last 2 comeros ive touched...1 threw a ses for 02s and air pump(my buddies car i just rode in it) and a 99z28 that wound up getting hydrolocked 2 days before i bought it. matter of fact it seems that every damn comero ive touched over the years winds up with some problem after i touch them... i am the PWNR of the comero

              Re: My "new" car got hit.

              sorry to hear that man.... it's very frustating.....i am very sensitive about my car and if something happens i get upset real quick.... girl drivers are the worst..... i believe two weeks ago i was taking a exit at 55 miles (i am slowing down gradually), as i look at the left sideview mirror to see the cars thats coming , the chick infront of me just brakes..... as soon as i turn my head and see her hit the brakes , i slammed my brakes.... put a nice 10 ft tire mark on the highway ...if it wasn't for the four wheel disk brakes, i would be in the hospital right now with an accident record on my drivers license.....so, as i look toward the car i see a chick driving the car...... some chicks are really respectable like the chicks on this board (jenn, shirl , kristen) cuz they have the fastest f-body here ;) ...... but others you gotta be careful..... hopefully you get your car back soon...good luck....

                I wish a drunk driver would slam into my car at 50mph on a sunday afternoon while its just sitting at the end of my drive way;

                So I could claim it and buy a new f-body.

                  I feel you on this one. My car got hit about a month ago and they are still working on it because I got it back and the work wasn't up to my standards. Atleast the lady fessed up and you knew a good body shop.

                            At least you guys get to beat on rental cars... I'm still driving my baby with the dents in it :(.

                            And my spare tire won't screw back on because of the indent, so it bangs around when I brake or go around turns.
