Hi everyone! New guy here... Names steven and I just recently picked up a T-topped and loaded 2.8 powered '89 firebird w/ 135k cause the price was right and it runs great (needs a little TLC which I'll get to this weekend) and everything works its a fun little car. It's an auto (A4 I think, how durable are these anyways?). After I do a major tune up I'd like to start squeezing some power out of it but nothing serious just intake, exhaust, chip and shift kit if these transmissions are good to work with (???). Days worth of good reading material here which is great as I know nothing about these cars and knowledge is power!
welcome to the site, lots of good info here even though theres alot more 4th gen's here than there is 3rd gens.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, very cool and I'm glad to be here! I gotta say this car is awesome! And for $1,500 (talked down from $2,000) I think I got a pretty good deal although it does needs some TLC. The body,windows,T-tops,lights & rims are in great condition. The interior is about a 7 out of 10 mainly cause the seats have a slight faded/normal wear on them but no holes or tears anywhere. The dash has no cracks, all gauges present and accounted for and all work properly. Power windows and power locks which both work properly.
Even with that little 2.8 she runs great and doesnt seem to have much of a problem pushin the rest of the car around. Runs cool and holds good oil pressure (40lbs@800rpms idle and raises quickly when gas applied),engine sounds like an engine should (no funky noises). Drive great and steers smooth and easy and keeps a fairly straight line (still getting an alignment & new tires). Brakes need some attention but will still stop the car (will be replaced) and the shocks and struts need to be replaced soon but IMO this is minor/normal things one would replace on an automobile. The car has been used, but seems to have been taken care of,tomorrow is my day off so I'll get a chance to really get down under the hood and see what I'll be workin with (I'm not a very good mechanic, not in the least bit but I try!)
And thor... I've never mixed my vanilla with chocolate before... But I'll try anything....er... almost anything once :naughty: .
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
