Opinions on tattoos? I want one that is unique but at the same time pays respect to my grandparents who have gone above and beyond for me my whole life. I was thinking our last name's coat of arms? I won't base my decision on what to get on your opinions but I will take into account your opinions on getting a tat in the first place. Sorry if i sound mean lol.

For example I knew a girl at work who got "sublime" tattooed down her spine. Dumbest thing ever... and i let her know it too :naughty:
While my friend (who is a paramedic) got the star of life tattooed on his chest. A much better idea as thats something thats obviously going to mean something to him until he dies (in aproximately 15 years).

Re: Thinking about taking the dive...
yeah, i agree with fireball.
when i was in 10th grade, i knew the best tattoo parlors, so all of my friends asked me to take them when they wanted tattoos.
one girl got an elaborate... circle on her lower back. another girl got a red star on her hip. another girl got a star on her back, and another one got a ****ING BUMBLE BEE ON HER SHOULDER. i went back to visit them this past summer, and every single one of them regretted it.
now i have a friend whos mom died a few years ago, and she got her moms name in arabic tattood across her back (like a tramp stamp...) because theyre egyptian.
i have another friend who got GLS tattood on his forearm, because his best friend (one of my best friends too) got killed in a car accident, because some douchebag ricer was showing off his NAWZZZ. GLS are the kids initials. he also got that big medical cross thing tattood up his spine, and across his shoulder blades, because his grandpa, who was a medic in the war, died recently (the same week as the kid got in the car accident).
so basically, think long and hard about it. dont get a tattoo because you want a tattoo, get a tattoo because you have something to get a tattoo of.2002 SOM Camaro- Sold

I got mine when I was in the Army. Love it. I've always wanted to get Marvin the Martian, but that's way to permanent for Marvin. I like your coat of arms idea, I think that is a good idea to honor your Grandparents.

Re: Thinking about taking the dive...
i have tattoo's, dont regret them & i wont.
obviously its not a good idea to get your favorite band tattood on yourself but other things, especially if they mean something to you are more than worth it.
as for the pain?. . depends on where you get them
ive got tattoos on my arm and back and neither one hurt, but my best friend got one in the same place as one of mine and he cried, so i guess its how well you handle pain.*Matt
Old people shouldnt use the internet.

Re: Thinking about taking the dive...
Since it's permanent, I'd opt for a real nice Henna tattoo and see how you like it first. Those things last at least a couple of weeks and you'll see whether you'll like the attention that people will give you when they are staring at your tattoo. Then if you're comfortable with it, go for it. :) (this is what I tell my art students).2004 CE Corvette 10.86@132mph
