Hey, you said yourself this isn't a democracy! :p

Even though the majority vote no, I still don't see a good argument from that side.

i said yes. it seems every day there is at least one new post about it. drives me crazy. heck if you look at the other 5th gen forums most of what they post there are things they hope to see in the new camaro and hear say about this and that on options and motors.

I say wait because I heard the V6 would be a 3.6 twister (4v) that will have 240hp. And I also heard that it would be the 3.9 torquer (2v)with the same hp but a little higher torque range.

i voted yes cuz all this speculation and junk needs a separate folder, so we can focus on the speculation and junk related to other things... like people wrecking their mustangs and trans ams burning out in front of ricer car shows.

aside, good god i hope i can get a solid axle on that beast somehow. screw independant. that should be an option. hell, i'd buy the solid axle as an option.

Re: With the announcement of the 5th gen....

he's saying he would rather have solid axle and not the independant that GM is going to put in the new Camaro.

I look at it this way... if the new Vette can hold up to it... so shall the Camaro.

But I'm sure there will be those that find a way to put solid axles back under it. :)

^^ yeah, teal's got what i'm saying. you're right tho, if the vette can handle it, then so can the camaro, but you're also forgetting something really important. that isnt a normal independant diffy in the back of a vette. thats actually a transaxle. they put it back there for better weight distribution. i predict that those independants will probably be under engineered and will break all over the place. people are gonna be swapping in solids all day long to take any sort of serious power. or they could just commonize the 'vette transaxle and give it to us too :naughty::naughty:

                          I voted yes.

I hope that Pontiac musles in and convinces GM corporate to allow them to develope a 5th Gen Firebird/Trans Am from the Camero. But given that Pontiac has been allowed to produce the anemic and unremarkable Solstice I doubt a 5th Gen Pontiac F-body will ever come to be.

                            What's a Camero? :p

The next Generation GTO is suppose to be on the same platform as the Camaro so that's what pontiac will get. Plus, there is all the talk about pontiac becoming an all RWD company.

Three years is a long ways off. With the way fuel prices are going, and trends in cars I wouldn't be surprised to see another dark-age in muscle cars.

I'll believe in the 5th Gen when it makes it to the dealership floor.

I say wait, its not in production yet, therefor any information about it should basically be in the lounge, i doubt it would be a very active forum right now... whats the point of doing it early
