well guys i think i might just be going to the air force here shortly. i haven't been a member here for too long of a time and don't personally know any of you, but sometime in the next week or two i will be going to meet up with a reqruiter or however it's spelled lol to sign up, take the tests required which i'm sure i'll pass and all that. i'm not leaving anytime real soon but i wanted to go ahead and post this and also say thanks for any help or advice i have recieved from anybody here, like when my car wasn't starting for a long time randomly which i think ended up being the crank postion sensor getting power steering fluid on it from a leaking system or pump, whichever is kinda right above it and when i needed help getting the pcv valve out, still haven't due to it not needing replacement and me tired of getting pissed off and when i asked a question about air filter shape and if it matters which nobody ever answered lol but it doesn't matter, i have a cone one now. well anyways i just wanted to post this even though im not mr. popular here and say i am actually kinda looking forward in this BIG step of my life. it's all for the good. if anybody here has a experience in the air force feel free to share it, good or bad my ears are open. -Brandon

Best of luck with that man. I can always respect someone who's willing to do something to protect our way of life.

Now that post was great, it went from AF to your car probs in like the same sentance. I dunno, maybe its because its late but I found that amusing.

my GF is actualy in the Air Force National Guard. Her pay, benefits, everything is amazing, if I didnt have asthma I would join almost in a sec. and dont worry about boot camp/tech school, its not as bad as its made out to be, tho she did say the guys had it rougher than the girls. who knows? Good Luck man.

My dad just retired a few years back after being active duty Air Force for 20 yrs. He seemed to like it. He got into a company that maintained and ran a fighter bomb range, so he didnt even move around as is customary with the military. Also heard that their boot camp isnt all that bad. If you do go this route, good luck to you. make sure they give you a good signing bonus too..

lol false alarm everybody, im not going after all. well at least not for a little while. if anything i'll join the coast guard later in '07 but its just gonna be going to work and such for now. the benefits are amazing though as stated above, starting out its around 1200 a month but that increases and health insurance is a given for the rest of your life.
