    Re: **** 3.4's

Give the 3.8 a try. There's a reason GM stepped up to it in late '95.

Yeah the 3800 series II kicks ***. Most of my families cars have a 3800 in them. Barely have any problems with any of them except the intake manifold gasket. Almost all of them need that changed.

oh i have. ive seen quite a few with blown head gaskets. lt1s cost more to keep in one piece than anything ive owned to date or probably will.

besides he's been there blown that up already.

honestly there was a point with my car where i said i was going to sell it and get a stang also. but i just cant seem to part with this damn thing.lol i was going to buy another fbod and give this one to the wife. but i decided not to and find her something else.(like a gp gtp :naughty: )

look into the fox bodies. good power, cheap, great after market. screw the 4.6 :)

i had a mustang, and said the same thing lol , bought a camaro.... and those 3.4s are better than the freakin 3.8, i put about 50k on my 3.4 , sold it at 170k and the only thing i did to it was change the alt...... drove it like it was an indy car all the time too....

              Re: **** 3.4's

Heh 3.4 is a sweet motor, just under built. GM never put any real thought into it. And actually at heart the 3.8 has a very serious design flaw to, check the oil pump design...

But over and beyond that, I just talked to a machine shop, I'm getting myself a copper head gasket set made.. Haha no more problems with blown gaskets. Also my '95 3.4 has just under 155k miles on it, and I beat the living piss out of it, and I have absolutely no problems. Might want to chase down the shop that re-machined your heads, they probably ****ed something up.

                you mean it isnt?

you almost have to floor it in a 3.4 to get anywhere and keep up with traffic.

have you considered going to a different shop? that could fix the problem. i have a 95 3.4, which has 92,000 miles on it, and it runs great.
