yeah, there have been rumors about the "blue devil" vette. a supercharged LS7. theres even a prototype that was driving the Nuremburg track. there are pics online of it. they'll never build it tho. it's really just pointless to anyways.

GM can not let themselves be pulled into my d1ck is bigger than your battle. that is wasteful and would take time and money out of the rest of the company including the Camaro

They are most likely coming out with the SS. It was called the Blue Devil by the press early on, until GM squashed that name. But all the Corvette magazines now report of GM coming out with the SS. One prominent engine builder in the US confirmed he is testing blocks and heads for a secret GM project. He's done this in the past, and he asserts ALL of his test subjects eventually came to market. It sounded like the motors for the Corvette SS to me, but it was in no way confirmed.

Historically, GM is best known for wasting company money. Look at the Fiat debacle and their possible plans with Nissan and other poor ventures.

I honestly dont see them making a vette SS. But thats just my 2 cents.

i think the plans for nissan will help them out. they make some money and they can offer up some excess production capacity to nissan. they both win and they come that much closer to a merger...

ok ok fine nuerburg.... w/e same diff :p the world renowned race track out in germany lol...

i think that really once you get past 500-600 hp, its way too hard to control the vehicle without having alotta experiance. no regular joe with a bunch of cash could safely handle it. if you've modded the car, you're getting to that kind of hp step by step. i know viper didnt go from 200 to 500 hp in one fell swoop... i know you all will say "oh but what about the bugatti veyron!" but still, sales would be so low it'd almost have to be a custom built car, which would require a whole different manufacturing process which in turn means alot more money... i just dont think it'd be feasible..

Gm building a limited run, special edition, 100K plus car would not only be wasteful, it would start hitting the price of some exotics, but definately making it out of reach of most people who would buy a chevy.

It would most likely not be a smart car to produce.
But hey, they sold a lot of cars battling with other companies in the 60's.
I would like to see it.

see, they'd have a very difficult time charging 125+ k for a vette. you can buy a lambo/ferrari/whatever and you just take one look at it and you KNOW its expensive. they'd have to change up the body alot for most people to be able to tell it apart from the regular vettes...
