    Just wondering. Seeing a good deal on a ls1, and gonna see what the ole v6 might pull in at carmax.

    personally. it does depend on where you sell it but i doubt its close. I'm sure most places won't give you even close to that.

      Carmax is a buisness, and just like any buisness they need to buy low and sell higher. So for them to sell at or just below book value on most of their cars they will buy extremely low. I've had a few friends of mine take their cars to carmax and every one of them came back with their car and a bad taste in their mouth at the offer they recieved.

        nada does not take into account options, so it's lower.

        kbb.com is always high, and edmunds is a touch low. Average the two, and it will be pretty darn close.

          I know, but buying a car at trade in and selling at retail, is a profit.


          I know carmax lowballs pretty low, but I have seen exceptions where they give more money out, then the car was worth.
