OK, in the context of "Family Feud" this is a no brainer.

But it actually is a serious question. I thought so from just reading the header. Many of the European nations belong to the European Union (EU) which has many of the characteristics of a country.

There are common laws for things like marriage and environmental standards. You can go from country to country without passing through border controls. There are no immigration laws between EU countries, people have the right to just move. They have a Parliment and a President.

In some ways the European "countries" are becoming more like the European "States" of a United States of Europe (that was once a proposed name). The big issues in Europe now are just how far to go toward becoming one "country" and who to let in. For example, everyone still has their own military.

Very well said. You forgot the common currency though, the €. Except for England, which didn't want to give up the £.

Quite frankly though i would not have been suprised if Europe had actually been the sixth country on the board... lets face it, Americans aren't the brightest people when it comes to geography.

I too coulda seen it being there.. but then i woulda died even more inside knowing that other people are also that stupid. Europe is a continent. It has never NEVER been officially recognized as a country, nor were those people attempting to be philosophical about the question. I mean, its the family freakin fued!?!??!! they're just stupid..

and seriously, was Al taking their answer seriously? usually those hosts start laughing at retarded answers... he almost seemed like he didnt get it...

                    Re: Is Europe a country?

Yeah, answering "Europe" is about on the same level as answering as "Europa"

                    Stupid.
