i get in my car around 12, its been sittin in the sun all day. drive away from my house. make one stop, turn, no problems. make another stop. CRACK. the passenger side corner of my dash just cracks right off. :mad: its a good 1" by 2" piece.
~$200 to replace :(

its only going to get worse sadly. sun KILLS dashes, kyle ( oi bird ) car had the same problem. when we did his t-top conversion we took the old dash out and it SHATTERED into a bunch of peices.once you get one crack is just goes down hill. go to a junk yard, $200 is way to much.

same thing happened to me this weekend. i'll be hitting up a junkyard this week for a replacement.

This is why i always park my car in a garage or in the shade (if possible), even if it means a longer walk to wherever i'm going. If you find yourself unavoidably parking in the sun alot then you should get one of those sun shield for the windscreen.
On a more random note: How do i find a junkyard? ... is it something you can look up in a phonebook? I've seen alot of people on here talking about getting stuff from one, but i've never seen one around where i live (although i know there must be some).

i dont know about cali, but theres like 5 with-in 30 minutes of my house. im sure you could look in the phone book, or google. it seems like its common knowledge around here, everyone knows where some are. maybe PA is different though.
