Wow, that's something! I would like to see a matchup with either of them against a Grizzly bear. Now that would be interesting, considering it's North America's largest and fiercest land animal.

hey you say that tiger was on the small side well so is that snake. it is a reticulated python. i have one and in under a year its grown from 18inches to 12 ft.... that snake is probaly 2 years old max now if you wana go for size we can throw this in the ring with that tiger

that snake is 25 ft long at 310 lbs and can apply more then 10 tons of pressure on the body of the tiger....so good luck tiger is all i have to say lol

MAn, that's one long and ungly snake! Those things give me the shivers.

I just found a video of a Grizzly vs. a Cougar. While not a big fight overall, check out the size of the bear next to the cougar! I think if the bear really put out a fight it would probably demolish many opponents. Looked like the bear was just playing with him.

There was a fight between a 500lbs Lion and a 1000lbs Grizzly. An article was written on in the 1950's. This circus in Russia went broke and so people were paying the ring master a lot of money to watch his animals fight to the death. It was done underground and it was very illegal.

Anyway the 1000lb Grizzly went up against a 500lb African Lion. The battle was fierce and the African Lion showed to be more aggressive of the two and it had no fear at all of the bear that's twice his size.

Just like the Tiger, the Grizzly couldn't secure a bite on the Lion because of its mane. The Grizzly gave up and it was running around the cage while the Lion was chasing it around.

The Grizzly was mauled by the Lion a number of times. Fortunately for the Grizzly he was able to club the Lion on the head with it's massive paw and claws and it cracked his skull open. The Lion was killed. But the Grizzly was mauled so badly that it died later that day.

Even though the Lion died first everyone gave the Lion victory. I have that article somewhere, if I find it I will post it. And yes, I do watch PBS, National Geographic, and Animal channell. I love big cats.:D

Mighty Thor, that was great account of what happened. Thanks for the info! That would have been something to see, but very interesting how you described what happened. The grizzly does sound like it was somewhat of a chicken, with the Lion brave enough to go up against an animal twice as big. Even the video of the cougar and the grizzly shows the grizzly to be easily frightened off. However, I would not think bears to be as easily frightened if it were trying to protect one of it's cubs or some some prey it had hunted down and was eating. Fascinating stuff.

PS: It shows what an incredible amount of power a grizzly has to be able to swipe the lion and crack its skull like that. But hearing the lion being able to maul a grizzly like that and ultimately cause its death, that is incredible as well.

I know some think its cruel but I've always thought it was interesting to see mother natures most powerful forces go head on... Back when I downloaded the video of the Lion vs. Tiger I also picked up a Lion vs. Bear (I think it was a black bear or sun bear,not a grizzly or huge bear) but I'm not sure how to get em up for the world to see incase anyones curious...

Love that Cougar fending that bear off from her cub,always liked big cats.
