eh GM went sour to me when they dissed the firebird and camaro in 02...i think they have sucked ever since ill never buy a new GM product ever till they come out with another firebird which i hear will never happen cuz some say the they "retired" the firebird name :(

you know i was just thinking about it...

its funny how many of you guys sit here and rip on gm for taking holden cars, restyling them a bit and rebadging them and then you ***** about how this whole retro thing sucks also. seems to me like you'll never be happy with anything that gm does and yet youre head over heels in love with the fact that the camaro is coming back and will buy one at some point,even though its platform will be shared with damn near everything coming out of gm in the foreseeable future.

to be honest, id buy that gp or a gto before id buy a camaro. the camaro is going to be overpriced due to demand for probably the first few years while the gto and (if it happens) this gp will be quiet a bit less with around the same power and probably a more well put together car(this could be wrong but lets look at the past fbodies and face the fact that they have never been well put together cars in the first place) that gp would put one hell of a dent in the sales that DC has been eating up with the charger, which in turn is a good thing for gm.

what nikon says is true. there are a lot of guys out there with kids who cant justify buying a camaro when it comes out due to the fact that its not a practical car for having a family. personally, once i have kids id like to have a car that i can haul them around in and still dust a mustang or hemi while cruising around town doing daily errands.

the gto sucks there 2 freakin heavy and slow compared to Ls1 firebirds and camaros my bro said they were only turnin 13's in the 1/4 mile thats pathetic my freinds ss Ls1 ran 12's all the time and if the new camaro is bout the same as previous camaros as far as weight and hp ide buy a camaro b4 i got a gto or gp for that matter but like i said in the previous comment i dont want another gm product unless its a firebird cuz my opinion its pontiacs greatest car and 1 of the best gm cars ever and its no longer in production so i say gm sucks and always will and that gp is just another slow heavy gto

i agree with you that the firebird was one of gms best cars,but its still gone.

the gto only turns 13s? condisering the weight of the car thats damn impressive to have a low 13 second car that wieghs 2 tons and has IRS.

and wooo whoo for your brothers uncles best freind with a ss. 12s arent all that impressive either for a v8. at the end of the day the ss is still a cramped car that has no practical use for people with families while cars like the gp/gto can be a 13 second car,still be able to put groceries in it, take the kids to school, be comfortable, and still look damn good while doing it.

No GTO bashing in my thread. Especially if you haven't driven one. A low 13 on street tires isn't anything to sneeze at. Their build quality is also light years ahead of the 4th gen f-body. It wasn't a car that was designed strickly for drag racing. There isn't enough market there.
