  • * buying a wrecked R6 *

A friend of mine wrecked his bike... (2006 R6) riding down 408 near orlando and thought he felt a car rub his leg, he jerked his head sideways to look? and there was no car but when he looked forward there was a semi tire in the road and he wrecked his bike.

After he was in the hospital for about a month, he sent a few of his friends to go pick up his bike from the salvage yard / towing company that scrapped it off the road.

Well turns out that only the owner can pick it up, and he's in no shape to even get there to get it so he was going to call them and just let them have the bike. He said he thought the case was split so it was worth nothing anyhow.

So. In order to pick up his bike he has to pay storage and towing fee's which is like $300.00 and climbing.. told me if i bail it out its mine.

So i think ill get it...

I have no intentions of fixing it, just parting it out.

it was a tire cap... after semi tires get worn down, instead of buying new tires they get them recapped... which is basically like gluing new tread onto the tire.... the tread comes off alot and you see peices laying on the roadways sometimes. They are like hitting shrapnal in the road.

Oooohh, so thats what those things are... I would think that would be illegal really... kinda dangerous. Speaking of things in the road i saw a dumpster in the middle of the freeway earlier today, and a few days ago i swear i saw a body wrapped in a blanket by an on-ramp... :( As far as i know they were unrelated...

they're called retreads. He could either get power of attorney done to let someone pick up the bike, or.......... I dunno, what happens if he doesn't pick it up? will he be forced to pay the ransom?

im pretty sure if he doesnt pick it up they will just keep the bike.. it is a brand new bike, totalled but they are a salvage yard...
but they would need a title

so were going to work something out for me to get it somehow and just pay the money so far.

I was busy shuttling people to the airport. So i couldn't really stop.. :( Although one of my passengers actually commented on it: "Were those feet sticking out of that blanket?"

bikes are dangerous, other drivers are more dangerous.

you have to be smart when your riding, but you can be the smartest rider riding next to the worst driver and your riding skills dont mean sh!t

gotta take chances! bikes are a load of fun!!
