Looks like that guy has done some research. Honestly i'm not nutting my pants over the new camaro, its just a new car that will be out of my reach for a while, so i'll stick to what i got while i have it.

Re: 5th gen camaro prices and motor's

Why would the Z28 be a higher trim/limited production model then SS?

These prices are also getting dangerously close to base C6s. The whole appeal of the Z28 was it's a cheap alternative to the Corvette. I forsee lots of people getting pissy about pricing, sun roofs, and IRS (if it isn't a live axle).

I'm pleasently surprised with the 310 hp RS package. Of course I'd rather have the Z28 or SS, but thats a pretty mean v6.

I agree with the fact its almost like they have it backwards...with the Z and the SS....and yea sunroof sux, with how the body is styled it would look killer with TTops.

t-tops are a genuinely f-body thing. GM would have to be a bunch of idiots to screw that one up and give us crappy sunroofs. i wouldnt buy the car for that reason alone. T-tops are to f-bodies as the rotary engine is to those mazda rx's. its part of what defines the car.

The z-28 used to be the race spec camaro, the way I see it, the z should be better than the ss.
Its counter-intuitive from a 4th gen perspective though.

those prices seem a bit steep. if they stay in that range gm will get eaten alive. around here a new v6 stang can be had for a little over 17k on average with most options.

I would get the base camaro with these options...

26,240.. No need to get another V8 when the V6 will have as much power as my LS1 did when it was stock!! Bad ***.. I cant wait now..

yeah but does them v6 mustangs have 240 or 310hp?? 310 is more then the freakin lt1's thats pretty bad *** to me...even 240 would outrun the gta trans am's and the rest of the 80's v8 f-body's...hell i mite have to settle for a v6 camaro! :)

Ill take the SS with the performance package.. You can have all the rest of that frilly, only adds weight, sorta stuff.... though if i could afford it, a supercharged ls9 would be too freakin sweet for words...

on another note, i wonder if they are taking into account the supposed "blue devil" C6 thats been being tested by GM as the basis for the supercharged engine.. and if thats the case, 525 hp is waaaay low... guess only time will tell...

**** it better outrun a LT1 if it costs just as much as a new LT1 did. I can't see paying near 30K for a V6.

BTW, the Z28 is above the SS for sure, the way it use to be. If you guys read through the original thread link that loser posted it says that its a gaurentee on that site.

i'll be shooting for an z28 (i dont like the idea of z28 and SS getting mixed up but w/e). I'll probably be doing a decent amount of custom work to it. I'll DEFINATELY be rockin a sound system. probably get a super up on top of that. hopefully they have the good sense to move that engine more forward in the hood unlike the 4th gens now... shaker hood anyone???
