those prices seem a bit steep. if they stay in that range gm will get eaten alive. around here a new v6 stang can be had for a little over 17k on average with most options.
im with bibby on this one. too expenisive. The most expensive V6 mustang I've seen is a 2007 with that sports appearence which had ground effects, 17 inch wheels, striping, true dual exhaust, leather, shaker 1000 audio system, 5 speed basically all the options you can get all for a cheap $24,000. I wouldn't buy a $36,620 V6. For that price I can go to Ford and pick up a fully optioned GT for $31k. Of course the Camaro will out power the Mustang in every model but I sure do hope that those prices go down. Back in the 90s the Camaro was a little more than the Mustang just like this and people just bought Mustangs. GM's thought of competitivly priced isn't competitive. Its more expensive. Just my $.02.

I see so many things wrong with that I can't even believe it. What jack off idiot who never leaves his mothers basement came up with that junk? GM will not even know how much things are going to cost until they set up the factory, and start producing the damn thing. This should be locked for stupidity.

i dont belive much of it either, just thought it was interesting and thought people here would think the same. didnt mean to start a stupidity fest or anything.

I dont think that 525hp LS9 is ever gonna see the streets, theres no way GM would make the camaro faster than their flagship. personally id love to see it, but its probably just gonna end up with an LS2 the way things are looking.
I like how they reverted back to the old ways of the Z28 being better than the SS, i think it matches the old muscle style theme of the car

Just as an FYI, you don't get the "fully optioned" price by adding every option to the base price, which is what you did on the v6 model (I didn't check the others, but I assume you did it in all of them). Because it's impossible to order both a sunroof and a convertible. And it wouldn't make any sense to order the premium package (which includes leather seats) and then pay another $1050 for leather seats.
That much for a base v8? GM might as well just scrap it now and save them the time. 28k for the "base" v8 is insane when Mustangs are well under that. I know they have more power blah blah, but they've already stated they need to sell a LOT of units to be profitable and with those prices it isn't gonna happen.

Hahahah, awww, its ok. No one will blame you. .. I for one quite enjoy the occasional stupidity fest
Anyway.. that RS is sounding pretty good... 310 hp (with good fuel economy) for only 24k?? how is that overpriced??

dodge is coming out w/ the Caliber SRT4 next spring. base price: 22k. 310 hp/260ft-lbs @6000rpm with 16psi from a turbo'd and intercooled 2.4 all aluminum 4-banger. curb wt. 3200lbs and a 6 speed manual. also, since other cars on that platform have AWD, chrysler may decide to allow the caliber to get some more traction too (i hear that torque steer was bad on the neon srt4's). they're already talking about running some aftermarket thru Mopar (i.e. stages and w/e)...
we're gonna have some competition boys...

True I was going to say that. Back in the day, which is what they are going back to with the design, the SS was the base v8, the RS was the high en V8 and the Z28 was the top high end. You cold also get an RS/SS which was a blend of SS and RS options. I know all this because my uncle has a RS/SS (its what his manual says and he explained all this to me) And his has the RS headlights and trim but everything else is the SS. So really it isn't backwards it is the right way. Moral of story if you ever have the opportunity to buy a 67-69 is Z28 THEN BUY IT! Becuase it will be worth a lot becuase they are rarer than any other camaro of that year.

That may well be true, but the Calibres are so ugly they make little children cry. I believe "not cute" was the spin that Chysler's marketing deparment put on it... but they're really just plain U-G-L-Y. I wouldn't buy one even if it had 600hp for 22k. Now unfortunately not everyone is as sound-minded as me :naughty: so you're probably right about the competition thingy.

heh, i dunno, i've kinda warmed up to 'em as a bit of a daily driver car. but when we heard about it here at the office, we all were cracking up... and we designed and supply a bunch of parts for it!

I wouldn't worry too much about the caliber, thats the ugliest ****ing car i've ever seen in my life.
srt-4s have horrible launches, fwd + tq (which they do have, i give some respect) = no good traction.
