It looks like my account is ok. I just checked. It didn't indicate any problems that I could see. Except that I'm not "verified". But I'm not going to give out my bank account #.

I don't care how official it may sound... Call Pay Pal directly and ask them if there are any problems with your account.

I've received a very well written email before from my Credit Card company that included a customer service number. The phone number did not match what was on the back of my card so I called my Card company per the number on my plastic card. Turns out the email was a fraud, so take warning.

Better safe then sorry right? Might as well make the quick call.

Never ever, ever, EVER, give out personal or financial information by going to a URL you receive in an email.

If you feel there might be a real problem with something, use a telephone and a phone number you know is really connected to the organization. Talk to a person.

Did I say never, ever, do this?

yup thats a scam, i get like 2 or 3 a month of those..just delete it and go on about ur business.

any reputable company or bank will NEVER ask for your credit card or other info via e-mail. if you've been suspected of something as serious as fraud, they'll give ya a call. delete.

just to repeat what has all been said, I do some fraud advising for the bank I work at and that is 100% without a hint of a doubt fraud.

This type of fraud is known as "pfishing"

What is Phishing?
Phishing is a scam that uses email to attempt to deceive you into disclosing credit cards numbers, bank account information, passwords, Social Security numbers and other sensitive information. The fake email looks like it comes from a financial institution. The email usually asks you to "confirm or verify your information" in some way - replying, filling out a form in the email or clicking on a link in the email that brings you to a fake "bank website".

Phone Phishing is on the rise in Wisconsin. This is very similar to email phishing. The fraudster calls, pretending to be a legitimate company, and tries to get personal information like account numbers and social security numbers.

Ha, my mom got one of those about a year ago... she was very confused by it, manly because she doesn't have a Paypal account

When ever I get something like that, I don't click on the link, isntead I go directly to the site. If there's a problem, it'll most likely come up when you log-in. So, if it doesn't come up or show anything when I log in, I just assume it was a scam e-mail and disregard it.

I get those PayPal and Ebay Account Foreclosure notices all the time. Just forward them to spoof@paypal.com or spoof@ebay.com

Prison Inmates have alot of time on their hands to send this sh*t to people and scam their personal info out of them. I know there are alot of other's who do it too, but the majority are guys sitting in long-time jail cells and are allowed to use the internet on a daily basis:rant: :rant:

Our district ALONE handles about three to six Fraud Complaints A DAY, and 2/3's of them are from Prison's.

yeah, thats all you have to do, just go to paypal directly and log in, it will tell you when you log in if anything is going on

o yea scam for sure i got that within three weeks of creating my paypal account. I have since gotton about 15 other spoof emails. WATCH OUT!
