  • mysterious yellow snake

I walked up on a yellow snake. It was 1 foot from my shoe. It was about 4' - 5' long! huge! This is the closest I've come to death in a few hours and the adrenaline rush was great!
I cant identify this snake. Cant find its picture anywhere.
I think it is probably some kind of exotic imported snake which means it could be HIGHLY venomous.
I'm gonna try to catch it tomorrow and take it to an expert.
If it trys to bite me it will taste my 12 gauge! ;)
    Anyone know anything about snakes?

I don't think that's a venumous one. It souds more like a constrictor like a boa or a python, more likely a young python.

They're not very aggressive but they do have a nasty bit when provoke. If you're not food they will try and get away from you instead of confronting you.

        So you'll live.

it was bright yellow and black diamonds
its not a corn snake but looks like some variant.
It might very well be not poisonous but I will treat it as if it is.
I will pay Homage to STEVE IRWIN. I will bust a Steve Irwin and pick it up by my bare hands!! CRIKEY!!! He was a big buggar!

Yes he definately wasnt acting hostile and chasing me down, but he sure did stare at me for a long time, even though my foot was 1 foot away. I'm sure he was more afraid of me than I of him

Ya, it sounds more like a boa or python to me. You should catch it. How'd it's head look? Yellow w/Black diamonds sounds like it may be a captive bred snake that was then released into the wild. You can get boas in just about any color if it's captive bred.

And Kristen, I don't see whay you don't like snakes. They're not slimy, when captive, they don't bite (much), you can take them just about anywhere and do anything with them. They are, IMO, the all-around best pet ever. But my mom's afraid of them too, so I don't have one anymore. The biggest thing is most peple think they're slimy. They're not; they're the coolest animal I've ever touched.

Holy crap, you must really not like snakes. Me? I love them. I've wanted a snake, or a tarantula, or something cool as a pet for a while...

I like snakes. I have a 1 ft long non-venenous snake in my pond.

yes, a gift from god in the sense that if its poisonous then its fair game for target practice for me.
