  • felony postal worker

I just heard on the radio that a postal employ is being slammed with
felony charges of not delivering mail!!!
He had bags and bags of mail in his shed in his backyard.
His explanation was "i just got lazy"

I never knew it would be a felony charge to not deliver mail!!! OMG!!
I feel real sorry for him!
America is turning into one big prison.
The law that says you cant not know the law is bull$hit!
They should've just given him like to Class A Misdemeanors and I'm sure he would've NEVER done it again!! Cause he would've lost his job too.
poor fool! that could've been me with trash mail in my toolshed!

I dont care if the mailman throws away my mail... its all just bill collecters anyways ;)

if you take american history, for some reason the US gov't has always had a soft spot in its heart for the post. I'm with you... that DOESNT need to be a felony

Mail carriers know what laws they have to follow. In their training, I'm sure they're made well aware that it's a felony to not deliver mail. Heck, that's their only responsibility.....carry mail.

Maybe it depends on how much mail it is. And I bet if you got sent to a collection agency over late payments because you never got the bills, you would agree with the felony charge, I would.

He should've found a simple easy job if he wasn't up for the task. The delivery of mail is very important. I'd be so mad if he was my carrier; all of my bills, packages, important letters, letters from my friends in the Army. I'm glad its a felony! :spank:

eh... definately wouldnt deny that justice is in order, a big fine, maybe even a year in jail, but i mean... dude, if someone has a felony, the only thing worse is a dishornorable discharge. you'll never get another job. Murderers and high rolling theives get felonies. not a guy who's too lazy to do his job...
its pretty bad, but its not felony bad.

Tampering with the mail is a very serious offence, even the government depends on it. You have bank numbers, social security numbers, phone numbers, adresses, all of your personal information travels through this system, therefore it has to be flawless.

Well I would think that they make it a felony so that they couldn't own a handgun, and couldn't come back to work one day and go postal. They're just covering their a$$es.

Someone said that felonies are for murderers etc.. but if you alter a TN temp tag I take you to jail for a felony HEHEHEHEHE!! People do it all the time and dont even think its that serious. I dont always hook them up though.
