SLP numbered their SS's, look over on LS1tech, anyone who has a SLP SS has "# XXX out of XXXX" in their sig

Well, let's see.. if he puts a ram air kit on it, gets SS wheels, and gets the SS grill, than it'll work since it already has the hood and exhaust. Personally, I'd ditch the badges though, but that's just me. And yeah, it's suppose to have a numbered badge from SLP too. The dealer knew what they were doing. $20,000 for a Z28 with low mileage is about right. I hope they didn't go through a whole song and dance telling you that it was some kind of special edition car.

What makes a SS Slp so great? and why is it 22 grand?? When you can get a ws6 for like 17.

SLP is bottom of the barrel compared to other aftermaret parts. The only thing going for them is the fit of their Lid, anything else is garbage. Look at the headers for example, $950 for long tubes that don't outflow the $350 pacesetters. Kooks, LG, QTP, and any other high dollar stainless header will outflow the SLP's BY FAR. I mean 20-30rwhp difference on H/C cars. Plus they are the lowest fitting header so they are way too easy to bottom out.

Conclusion: SLP offers overpriced and underperforming parts.

Check this out, you can get a genuine SLP zip tie!
                  http://www.slponline.com/view_produc...25&BIG=11025-1

Only $2 plus $5 shipping.

Oh and btw, all SS's were made by SLP. There is no difference between a SLP SS and an SS, it's the same car. You could order a 'stock' SS or order some aftermarket SLP parts when you bought a new SS, and they arrived installed from the dealership.

the only things slp make that are worth anything are the lids the LM. LM isnt great but it serves its purpose of being loud and better than the stock catback.

so BRADY ( :p ) is right most slp products are overated.

To clear this up, I called SLP today.

                      My Car Is The Following:
                      2001 Camaro SS SLP Package,
                      SLP Car #3039.

Take that one to the bank boys.

Someone said the wheels are 16"? um no, the wheels are 17" ZR1 wheels with SS badges in the center.

                      SLP #3039.

Well I'm pretty happy to find out that it is in fact a real SLP SS car, and I have the number now (3039).. I also have the SLP stickers of what was installed on both doors, unfortunitly they are worn greatly...

SLP says i have to buy some birth certificate crap to see what all they did.. which is.. $51.. I dunno if it's even worth it.. but i'm considering, just to see what all they did to the car.

if this is true then there should be a badge inside the car.

either way good for you, IMO you paid to much for a car thats no faster than a z28. you paid consideralbly more for a few badges and some rims. but what ever its your money.

                        dont wreck it.

Nice, so i can't make a sig or edit anyting, because aparently i am 8 years old, since i put 1998 as my birthday, instead of 1987

Don't remember doing this, I'll take pics of the badges today.

By the way, not all SLP cars were shipped with the same mods, accord to SLP, the owner was able to choose which mods he wanted installed. Thus meaning, that just because I don't have all the same options as other people, it doesn't make it a non-SLP car.

Call them up and ask about car #3039, "2001 White Camaro SS 2D Coupe" Take that one to the bank.
