Re: who's been to cancun
You cant go wrong with Cancun.
Me and my buddies went down there last year for spring break and ill remember that for the rest of my life
I've been there one other time with my parents when i was younger (about 13-14 i think) and it was a blast then too.
Theres so much to do down there (even if that doesnt involve getting tanked every night).
FYI, only drink bottled water unless you feel like losing about 10-15 lbs from getting sick from theirs.
Anyways, have fun down there.

Re: who's been to cancun
I went with my parents in June and it was pretty nice.
Depends a lot on where you're staying though. My parents went three times in the last couple years and the first time stayed a really expensive non all-inclusive and were actually kinda bored at the resort. Next couple times they stayed at places that were actually cheaper but included everything and loved it.
I still liked it, but the places we stayed at turned out to not be as nice as the ones they had been to. We probably would have stayed at other places, but a lot of the nicer ones have minimum ages and my little sister was with us anyways. First hotel (Blue Bay Club) was out in the middle of nowhere and was like an all inclusive motel on the beach despite having really high ratings online. Maybe I just set my standards too high.
Second one (Riu Caribe) was a lot nicer even though it wasn't much more expensive, but the desk staff sucked. My sister is really allergic to smoke, and when we went to go to our rooms they were still being cleaned and had ashtrays in them (all non smoking hotel). We went downstairs to ask about it, and the guy would only say they were an all non smoking hotel, but sometimes people bring ashtrays up to their rooms. When we finally got to the rooms (two hours later-they said it would be done in 20 minutes) the ashtrays in both had been cleaned and left in the rooms.
Try a Chunky Monkey for me while you're there. I think it's the first alcoholic drink I've ever had that goes with breakfast.
The service people are incredibly appreciative of tips too. A buck every drink or two isn't bad, and they'll remember it.
After you've gone through customs at the airport you'll come across a bunch of official looking people who will try to motion you over and insist that you have to come with them, but they're really trying to sell timeshares. They used to be in the baggage claim area and wear badges, but apparently they've cracked down or something. Just keep walking.Last edited by 02PewterBird; 09-24-2006, 03:15 AM.<a href=\"http://webpages.charter.net/camarov6/Car%20Pics/New/IMG_0085.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">Black 2002 Camaro M5</a>-SS takeoff muffler, B&M Ripper, K&N Filter, 35/20% tint, Infinity speakers, Viper alarm, perpetually breaking clutch return spring mod. 15.49@90.15<br /><a href=\"http://webpages.charter.net/camarov6/Car%20Pics/P14.JPG\" target=\"_blank\">Pewter 2002 Firebird M5 (Dad\'s Car)</a>

Re: who's been to cancun
I've been to Playa Del Carmen and Cozumel. Cozumel is nice but is quiet and more of a relaxed atmosphere. Playa Del Carmen has better beaches and has a more lively night life. Cancun has the best night life obviously.
Tulum is pretty sweet. Head to the building perched up the highest towards the water. The one where you walk up steps to get to it. Then cross the rope that says do not cross :p and take pic's over the cliffside... It's an awesome view. I can link to my pics if you were interested.
BTW, many of the fancier all inclusive resorts filter their water, so it may be ok to use it to brush your teeth. Just check.
Have fun. Im jealous and want to go back again. :(<a href=\"http://dpo.rpaisley.com/displayfile.do?file_id=11856&size=ORIGINAL\" target=\"_blank\">05 GTO</a><br /><a href=\"http://dpo.rpaisley.com/displayfile.do?file_id=2825&size=ORIGINAL\" target=\"_blank\">97 W68</a><br /><a href=\"http://dpo.rpai

Re: who's been to cancun
you have to do this type of tour when you are there. Its called joes jeep tours. basicly this guy joe takes you around the real mexico. You go and see some of the smaller temples and what not that no one knows about. so its just you. then he takes you to some of the real shopes around cancun. then you go into this under water cave type thing, very romantic if your on your honeymoon. You can choose to do a zip ride from this scary high plat form above the trees down to the ground, i did was really fun.
In the middle of it all you have a picnic in this kinda sacluded (sp?) forest area under a big kazebo type thing. It rained a little while we were there and was really really nice. Then he takes you to this crocadile zoo. Where you can get pretty close to some crocs, as well as some other pretty cool animals like these weird mexican hairless dogs, some type of deer, monkeys you can feed bananas, igunas, snakes, and many more. and its not like at the zoos in the us. you can choose to get really close up to animals. And again many people dont know about these places so you dont have to worry about a TON of people. all in all if you went on this tour, you would not be dissapointed. lasted about a whole day.Last edited by Meatyshells; 09-25-2006, 12:58 AM.
