ran the car for the first time today at the track, wanted to do an oil change pre run, but didnt have a filter. Ran it once, first run ever 15.2 then pulled over and heard a tinking noise.
Said ****, oil was low, but my light didnt come on, added oil, and now there is a small vibration from the motor, like a small knocking noise inside.
Spun bearing, correct?
I am pissed and not, this way I will build a motor over winter and attempt 600 rwhp next spring.
Well if you aregoing into the task of buiding up a big motor. Shouldn't be too big of a deal to pick up a low to mid mileage longblock for like $300-500 and put in yourself.
what about the crank?
and arent you supposed to prelube all the rod bearings? maybe prime the pump?
my dad has done it
remove oil pan..... find out what bearing spun...... replace lube and re-TQ it then hope it lasts.....
if nothing else it will at least restore oil PSI and stop you from killing the rest of the motor or you could be like his and last 50,000 more miles
eather way it cheaper then a full rebiuld
i think he use som sand paper on the crank to smooth/polish it a little so the new bearing would seat well

Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
