St. Louis is weird because it's so touch and go. Some areas are just fine but don't go 2 blocks in any direction without bringing a platoon with you. I live in the 'burbs but I work downtown, a couple weeks ago I was walking to my parking garage after the Cardinals game (and a couple drinks at Shannon's - yeah) and I see a one legged black man staggering towards me from the other end of the block on his crutches. And of course we converge right at the frickin' door I need to get in the garage. He mumbled something, surely about wanting money, and I noticed he had gold teeth. How are you going to have gold teeth and be asking me for money?! At least I know he couldn't catch me if I had to run...

Yeah, that's true. About 2 years ago a couple of my friends and I were looking for a basketball game to go to and it was at some arena in Detroit, but we didn't know exactly where we were going. It was also already 7:00 and dark. We ended up taking Schoennher all the way until it ended. It went to something like 4 mile. Well once you get into the single digit mile roads you're definitely in a bad area. We saw some bad things...homeless everywhere...garbage and everything from peoples houses in the streets...tons of stray dogs...it was pretty scary. We ended up at this building with big smokestacks and a ton of cars were around there. I called my dad to see if that was the place and he said yeah (just by the description). So we decided to go in and as we were walking up to the door we realized it was Denby High School (a very bad high school...the week before there was a shooting there with uzis...not even exaggerating). It was a dance and we were definitely the only white people there...one of my friends was a red head to make it even worse. We were getting some bad looks from everyone around...the dance had just ended and everyone was coming outside. We basically ran back to the car and got the hell outta there. I pretty much almost sh!t my pants. I learned to never drive around in Detroit again when you don't know where you're going.
hey dude, i'm from troy... thing is, right now i'm at kettering u... right in the heart of flint. i just moved in today, and we actually have flint 5-0 on our payroll to police the 1 city block campus. its scary. detroit is scary too. i actually put my camaro away for the winter so nothing would happen to it. now i'm rockin the 94 sonoma with no muffler and backfires! gotta love the 2.2L trucks! after the auto show last year i turned the wrong way on van dyke and wound up down in single digit roads. lets just say that stop lights meant only 1/2 throttle outta there...

San Jose is actually one of the SAFEST BIG cities in the nation, which surprises me.

Cant believe Oakland, Ca is not on the list.

Thats because boredom breeds trouble. If you've got nothing to do, might as well go out and shoot people.

I was suprized that Oakland wasn't number 1... I'm pretty sure that no one has ever left that city.......
