  • It's going to be an interesting spring

I just thought that to myseslf.

There are a few of us building motors right now which will be ready around next Spring, and I think that in 2007 there are going to be some new records set, both 1/4 mile and dyno HP. Andrew's motor will be done, I believe. I just made a decision on my bebuild (L32.) There are a few other people who I know are planning to build some FI motors, as well as a lot of people advancing/building their N20 motors. So just a random thought I just had, I think this next coming year is going to be huge for the 3800.

yea, unfortunately the Stangs are way ahead of us. someone needs to pioneer the TT set up. I thought about it, but didnt end up going thru with it. TT camaro=record setter=tuning nightmare

I just wanna say that post was not directed towards anyone specifically. I respect your advice, car, motor, etc. and wish you the best with getting your car back up and running in 11 sec fashion.

and if you wouldnt mind sharing a little info on the stand-alone.

keep us updated, you'd be the first with a stand alone pcm wouldnt you? or at least as far as i know, maybe zzp and other big companys that have the 3.8 fwd cars have them? i wish you the best of luck, your cars been making too much progress to keep track of.

ZZP and intense all use stock PCMS BUT they also have the GTP computers, witch have a few thing that we don't

the stock maf maxs at 36 lb/min (not alot of air flow) so you need a bigger maf right? well the pcm can only read the maf to 11,500 HZ, most V8 mafs go to 12,000Hz or more before they are "maxed".

HOWEVER in most V8 maf the values for 11,500 are not much more then out stock PCM.

The LT1 maf will flow 65 lb/min @ 11,500Hz......... the lingenfelter maf will flow 67 lb/min at 10500Hz......or you can buy a mini AFC and dial down you maf 80-90%....... great right? room to grow?

nope the PCM max is 512 g/s or 67.7lb/min after that the pcm CAN NOT ADD FUEL you have to do it manually witch trust me sucks balls...... you basically need 2 track runs to tune (everytime at the track)........ at least..... and you have to tune for different air temps.

this stand alone will be about much cheaper/about the same as buying all the maf stuff, and still use the stock PCM for tranny shifting......... but i least i wont have to retune every 5 days
