If I can have your attention for just another second though. We all know our cars are bad in rain. Its just something we deal with as f-body drivers. They are not horrible, but its just something that takes getting used to. Just do me the personal favor of taking it a little easy on the gas in the rain, esp in heavy rain.... cuz you just never know. And I realize a lot of the young guys on this board will just blow this paragraph off, and ignore it, I would of 3 days ago as well. It just sucks it takes an experience like this to drive the point across. We all love our cars, so just ease off the gas a little... you wont be that late to where ever you are going.
just got my permit in auguast, and you had my attention the whole time. my tires are only half dead and pulling out onto the road today the back end came out half way.( light drizzle all day ) i wasnt being stupid, i pulled out like normal. my dad just looked out the window and tryed not to laugh at me. ive only driven in BAD rain once, but didnt have any problems. thanks for the reminder.

Yikes Josh.....very sorry to hear about this happening. You're such a nice person ...I really hate to have this happen to you :(. Glad you are ok. I can imagine it was a very scary experience. If you need Tim and I can go to Manassas for you. We can also take some photos for you if you'd like.
I know how these cars are in the rain all too well as I hydroplaned in my old V6 but thankfully gained control back before I hit a tree and kept it on the road. After that experience 5 years ago I take it very easy in the rain.
Again sorry to read this and hope everything works out.
to me, between the airbags and the rear quarter being smashed, its not looking good... probably totaled... the car def. seems rebuildable if thats something you would want to consider. if you can do some of the work yourself, it would probably be cheaper than the check you'll get from the insurance company. good luck with everything! sorry to hear bout the car man.. but at least you are ok
Phill

95 camaro... need money for turbo project...
94 S10 Blazer - winter beater - infinity system to be installed soon

\"The man who says it cant be done should not interrupt the man doing it...\"
If it is totaled, I would take the money from them and then ask how much they want for the car. If you know how to do some body work to the car you might have a good deal on your hands. It looks bad but it doesn't look too bad. Maybe you could buy the car back from the insurance company and then sell the car and get more money to buy a better camaro. :)
well I found out it was totaled about 2 weeks ago. The estimate to repair the damage was between 7900 and 8000. The max kbb said she was worth was $8k, so I new it was offically totaled. However, last week I got the call saying the adjuster was going to give me a little over $10k for her since he said I kept up with the car and after it was parted out they should be able to reclaim about that.
I'm not going to part it out because the car is in northern va and I'm four hours away. Plus I'm a full time student in my senior year, so while I have time to waste, I dont have that much time on my hands.
My plan is to try to wait til around summer time and use the 10k as a downpayment for something new. That should help me get a low apr and low monthly payments. Which a kid fresh out of college could really use. Plus that'll give me something that will be reliable for a solid three years.
I do not know what I'll end up buying, but I think I'm done with f-bodies for a while. I need something more practical- gas mileage and hauling space. I wish I could wait til the new camaro comes out, but I guess my timing just isnt that good. I still cant wait to see that thing on the roads though.
I do plan on staying around this board. Cant just leave something like this place.
