I was in a somewhat similar boat when it came to selling my old Chevelle. So, I made sure the purchaser of it was not from around here, and I would keep the title. Whoever was going to buy it was going to have to part it out in the purchase agreement. And that's exactly what happened.

I had spent too many years driving that car to let it be seen with someone else behind the wheel. Plus, it really began needing major bodywork due to rust lurking underneath the paint. So, it wasn't asking too much of someone to salvage parts rather than try to restore it.
