  • Ughhhh...EBAY ADVICE Needed PLEASE. I'm getting screwed by a SELLER.

I purchased 3 car accessories from a vendor called "wholesale_dealz" on Ebay. I bought a set of carbon fiber sail fins, carbon fiber turn signal covers and a gauge cover set. Anyway.... I sent this guy 2 personal checks for all 3 items several weeks ago. (He would not accept Paypal). And last night, I get 2 "disputes" from him through Ebay that I "didn't pay" for the items. WTF?!?!?!

So last night, I write to him and ask him what the problem is... the payments were made. I get NO REPLY back from this person. Then today, I call my bank and INDEED THE CHECKS WERE CASHED only a few days after I had sent them. So upon getting this information, I file 3 disputes against him claiming that each of the merchandise was NOT sent. He had a 96% feedback rating (out of 10 pages of feedback) so I thought I was safe. BUT today, when I read through the pages of feedback, there were several feedbacks that were not good where it looks like he has done this to other people and claimed that payment was not sent. NOW WHAT? Am I going to be out $73.00? And my Ebay account? I guess my next step is to get copies of the cancelled checks from the bank (to present to Ebay) if this guy screws me over. This really pisses me off...

Definately file a claim through ebay and get all copies of the checks from your bank. BUT...first and foremost, file a police report asap! Just tell the Officer you want to file a Fraud Report and make extra copies of the documents to give to them. This cover's-your-anatomy, and it's what ebay suggests you do. You can also file a claim with IC3

something like that happen to my friend, he mailed a money order to some guy in canada. the guy pretty much stole his money. My friend went online made a post on his acura rsx site and a whole bunch of people went over to this guys house and pretty much made him give the money back.

well i try everything I can to avoid anyone selling anything that doesn't accept paypal, but it's not entirely unavoidable.
                    NOTE
Anytime you send anyone money in the mail USE a USPS money order. If they cash it and you don't get the stuff it's mail fraud and indesputable! On personal checks there are ways to worm out.

side note I'd post the guys address and see what you can do from there. Perhaps on some of our fellow f-body boards. Nobody likes fradulent ebay sellers and enough people have been screwed to be willing to take out their frustrations on another ebay scammer.

Unfortunately, the address was a P.O. Box. SOB knows what he's doing I guess. He's got $77.04 of my money. I'll call the bank again today and copies of the checks to send to Ebay. Thanks for all the help guys.

Ok, he actually responded to my 3 disputes and said "ya know, I just received payment, and have to wait until the check clears for 10 days. You agreed to those terms."

So I replied "Ok, no problem. Thanks for responding. But please ditch the dispute (since the checks were cashed
on the 21st and 27th). Looking forward to getting these. Take care. :)"

Sooooo,,,, hopefulllllly I will see this stuff. But I will still need to get copies of the checks just in case. I'll keep everyone updated on this.

If it doesn't post this up on the major f-body boards... your a chick with a fast v6, so the guys will come out of the woodwork and investigate this guy better the the police would and set something up to get your money back.

I have seen as far as guys leaving notes on the seller's car, to them actually knocking on his door in a big group and asking for the money, to just posting up the guys home and cellphone numbers, and just having people call it 24 hours a day out of a lounge. Including people browsing the net working midnight shifts.

**** I barely trust paypal, I would never send anything but paypal anymore. IMO, if you can't figure out or use paypal, then I don't trust you with money.

Granted paypal is far from perfect and has its problems but its the most universal thing out there.

Yep. Once you have those, it's a closed case. I wouldn't worry too much. Atleast its not a lot of money. And that is odd coming from someone with that much positive feedback. Maybe a misunderstanding? Gotta be..... nobody with that much feedback would jack someone for a measly 70 bucks....

Oh.... just saw that the seller finally responded. Sweet.:)
