^^^^ Not really, people just need a PLAUSIBLE backing to believe something that's written..if they consider something impossible, people won't believe it, but if it's plausible, but still a lie, they will believe it, especially if it's repeated over and over. One word: propaganda.

and thats exactly what happened with "origin of species"...scientific proof or an active imagination? ;)

Oh, and as for men changing it over the centuries...consider this, men throughout history have tried to keep people from having a copy of scripture, as a result, many men have died to keep this book in circulation, why would they, in logic, give their lives to keep an altered testament around...the bible has gone through many periods in history where people have tried to completely destroy it...guess what, its still here, and i can guarantee it always will be ;)

Consider this. For years the stories of the bible were passed down and not written down. From this alone, the stories change (ever play the telephone game?) It has also been translated sevaral times. This too causes changes. Finally, while some may have tried protecting it - men have flaws. It only takes one person translating it to change it.

This is for those that follow the bible. How do you know if your religion is false or true? Its not what suits you or fits with your life style...your religion must follow the bible since it is inspired of God (2 Tim 3: 16,17)
This is but a few things to think about: False Religion meddles in war and politics. How many churches do you know that support one country or another that is going to be or is in a war? Jesus taught us to love our enemies. (Matt 5: 44) If we have hate we are contrary to what the bible says. (1 John 4: 20) False Religion spreads false doctrines. One very prominent false doctrine is the immortality of the soul. The bible says the soul dies and that the dead are conscious of nothing at all. (Ezekiel 18:4, Ecclesiastes 9:5) Jesus taught that the dead will be resurrected- an unnecessary action if humans hame an immortal soul. (John 11: 11-25) There are many more lies that are spread. False religion TOLERATES immoral sex. (1 Corinthians 6: 9,10)
Now, that being said, how can you identify True Religion? Here are a few things: True Religion practices love. (John 13:35, John 17:16, Acts 10:34, 35) Rather than killing one another, true worshipers are willing to die for one another. (1 John 3:16)
True Religion trusts God's word, and they follow it. They do not teach a tradition that was founded by man but has no basis from the bible.
(Matt 15:6-9) Why do they teach God's word? Because it is inspired from God. (2 Tim 3:16)
True Religion strengthens families and upholds high moral standards. The bible has great councel for married ones. (Ephesians 5:28,33 Ephesians 6:1)
Those in the congregation that are entrusted with positions of authority must have exemplary morals. (1 Timothy 3:1-10)
I noticed there was a lot of discussion going on, but there were no scriptures used. I wanted to show those that care what the bible itself has to say. If you want to discuss this with me I'm open to that, but it would make sense to read the bible verses I have given that backs up each statement I have made.

I'm a Christian.....sorta.....I went to a private Christian school until 8th grade. I don't pray everynight, or everytime I get food, I don't go to church, I swear, break the law, etc etc. But, I believe in Jesus, so I'm a Christian:banana:

I've noticed that people who are extremely religous, no matter what, you cannot win a debate with them. Its rediculous. They will always just counter with some god :bs: and "i'll pray for you" . When you bring up science they say "god made science as a test of faith", its a ****ing joke. I think its so strange and uncanny that people actually believe the bible and have so much faith in faith.

Whoever was trying to debate science saying it has errors and such, do you even realize what science is? Its trial and error

I'm loving this cause it shows just how detached America is from religion. My mom still to this day doesn't understand my beliefs and why I do not go to church.

first off, thats pretty sad you take pleasure in people having no faith. second, its not that detached, christians make up more than 3/4 of americas population...

What you quoted had nothing to do with faith, but religion. Sad? no, just entertained by the difference in reality and what people make the public perceive. Either way, I could care less who's feelings I hurt about what I believe and you can take that to the bank.

yeah 3/4 but how much of that 3/4 are real followers? There is no way to tell cause there are people like me who grew up in the Christian life style, still base my title as Christian but in reality, has a belief far off.
