Considering you drive a slow *** v6 "I do as well", there's not much performance there. I'm sure there single digit ls1 camaros with t-tops.

      The end.

The only people that don't like t-tops are the ones that don't have them, I;m sure if they had a chose they would deffinetely take them over the POS hardtop.

so keep your 4th gen with the t tops and buy a hard top 5th!

that is what i'm doing, but i'm not holding back. i'm getting the biggest and badest motor they put out there!

about the chassis thing I have no idea but t-tops are heavier than a fixed roof 4th gen

a car is like a woman... if you want the top to come off you need to spend a little extra $$$$

I'm thinking they are going with Ford's marketing of the Mustang, in that it only comes in hardtop or convertible.

                  Why is that?

the 2 metal pieces you cut off here, weigh as much, if not more hten a pair of t-tops and a center trim bar.

That doesn't also include that you are cutting off the weatherstripping trim guideplate in half as well...

Re: No T-tops? What's the point?

The 5th gen won't look right with T-tops. The choice is:

A.) Offer T-Tops, but make the car look like crap.

                    OR

B.) Keep it a coupe or convertible, and the car looks dead sexy.

                    I'll take option B.

and BTW, the whole "no t-tops on the 5th gen" thing is OLD news. The issue was already settled before the concept came out.

Because when you cut the roof off a car, it weakens the structure. So GM had to compensate for the T-tops by strengthening the body. That's where the added weight comes from.

I think a targa top would look alright on the new maro, but obviously it's not going to happen. I'm sure some shop will cut the roof off of one.

actually i chose hard top over t-top. i had 4 cars in the same price range, mileage and color. and i chose the hard top. did the same thing when i had my 3.4. to me its just another pain in the *** thing that id break and have to fix.
