I always thought that the 35th anniversary Camaro was red with stripes and the Firebird yellow.

you said Camaro, so I'm guessing you meant SS
But you said "firebird", so I'm guessing you really meant: Trans Am WS6

mines not an ss, but it is a black 35th cOmEro

            I'm no f-body-ologist, but I'm pretty sure a SS is a comero and a T/A is a Firebird.

It's not that all the SS's in 2002 were red with the silver stripes. That was the 35 Anny Edition SS, which was done by SLP. There were still 2002 SS's, I don't remember them having stripes though, maybe the dealer or someone else put them on. And all the Camaros that year probably had the 35th Anny plate on the dash.

I remember a soldier stationed on the same post in Germany getting a black 2002 SS and he was saying it was a Anny Edition because it had the 35th plaque on the dash.

It could be, I don't recall what kind of stripes SLP put on them. Solid / Checkered?

An RS? I think all the 2002 got the 35th dash plaque.

No, I'm pretty sure the SS is a CAMARO. There's 3 or 4 people in this thread alone who can't spell. Holy crap, it's even the name of the webpage, and look, look up in the upper left, I see it spelled correctly in the little gif at the top, and in the message board hyperlink.

How hard is it to spell Camaro?

For probably a month now certain people *cough* firebird owners *cough* sure have been making a lot of spelling mistakes.
