What is Firefox?

Here's the situation ....i want to download the videos on youtube and google and save them in my computer ........ but all these videos are in flash format .....i already downloaded a software called "super" http://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=259578 ....what it does is that it converts the flash format (.flv) to .wav format ...which is cool so i can play it with my windows media player or burn it on a dvd (or transfer it to my phone with help of .wav to .3gpp converter) ......now, my problem is that i can't download the vidoes from the youtube or google? Some one told me i have to use "Firefox"....what's Firefox? Is there any other solution to downloading video files off those video servers? Help appreciated :)

firefox is freakin sweet. i dont use it for the board cuz basically it disables several things that can potentially cause viruses and stuff. so basically i cant see this guy :banana: do his lil dance. but other than that, tabbed browsing and so many other things make firefox sweet as hell. i dont know whether it'll help u download all that stuff tho...

So, even if i download Firefox I can still use windows explorer, right? ....if yes, then i will download it....thanks... :)

Firefox is better than Internet Explorer, Explorer has no protection. And you can set Firefox to run as Internet Explorer if you want.

what does that mean?
do you mean it can import all your IE settings?

what i meant was that lets say i have been using Firefox for half an hour ...then i wanted to use internet explorer...at that moment, can i just close firefox and open i.e to browse?

definately, you can even have them both open at the same time
I just click on: "dont set firefox/IE to default browser"

Sorry, i was thinking about Netscape, it has an option in the bottom left to let you switch between I.E. and Firefox

Sorry, i was thinking about Netscape, it has an option in the bottom left to let you switch between I.E. and Firefox

Firefox has an add in to switch from FF to IE using the same firefox tabs. Its called IE tab . https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/
