  • Backing up files?

Whats the best way to backup files in a "permanent" way in the event my computer ever got a bad virus and just the piece of mind of having a backup of my files?

Would getting a nice size usb flash drive be worth it(especially with the portability?)

    Are those worth it?

I basically have less than 3GB of files I would like to backup(pictures/so on). Thanks

    Re: Backing up files?

A USB 2.0 external hard drive, they're cheap for as much space as they hold. Western Digital My Books are kind of cool

Or you could go even cheaper with a second internal drive but its not as convenient

These days about $100 will nab you one that will be able to backup anything you need....The more gigabytes the better because you'll always be needing more space later on

You could also burn files with a DVD-R/W drive, and use the 4.5gb or 8+gb discs. People say they're more reliable for archiving things for real long periods of time if you store them properly but take a lot longer to record than harddrives do
