  • What is this? Replace?

    I was taking out my old exhaust system and i found my muffler bearing, does it look like in needs to be replaced?


    '96 Trans Am M6:) Cam, lifters, 1.6rr, lt4 springs, 4 bolt mains, long tubes, TDs, short throw...etc
    '99 Firebird SOLD 1/4 mile 15.4 @ 86
    '66 Ford SOLD

    it at least needs to be re-greased.

      What type of HP gains do you think id get out of that? Im running the 10" belt on it. Ive heard around like 200hp gain?

        10" is a good size. 9" might be too much on the bearing, dont want it to seize on you.

          I think you can buy some elbow grease and fix that muffler bearing right up!

            use a couple bars of aircraft soap to clean it up first before regreasing.
            Also \, change the rice or the bearing might burn it.

              how bad was the damage?
              and what was the cause?

                That's one shi*ty looking exhaust .... btw, don't make the mistake i made ......when i ordered my bearing, i forgot to order the bearing holder....don't forget that! ......:)

                    yea bearings in exhaust are fine tuned to make perfect percussions of "waaaaaaaahhhhh" "WAAAAAHHHH'

                      I replaced my muffler bearing once. It was exhausting work.
