I dont think its as bad as I thought and you all are probably right about it being okay. No damage to the hood which is really good news. The MAF is trashed, the plugs were COMPLETELY fouled, the intake is done for (no big loss, it was only $40) but thats as far as I got today. Took us awhile to get it on the trailer cuz it was too low so I had to take off the front lower fascia and when we got it on the trailer it hit the front bumber and spider cracked it. My buddy who has helped me out quite a bit on this project is coming over tomorrow afternoon and we will tear down the top end. Here are some pics:

Well, good news! We think we found the biggest problem. The brake booster line that is connected to the back of the intake manifold blew off in the explosion, thus the incoming air that came thru the intake manifold went right back out instead of into the intake runners into the motor. We didn’t find any metal shavings in the manifold and everything seems to be okay. I am going to clean up the TB a bit, replace all the gaskets, the MAF, MAF screen, MAP sensor and the spark plugs, after that it should be up and running again. I wont be racing til next season :( By the time I finish fixing it, the tracks will have closed and the snow tires will be going back on.

dude.......that sucks....... I left for Kansas on Fri, and didnt get the news untill now. Dang, I wanted to run some with you before winter. Oh well, theres always next year :D

I dunno, he is hesitant to take it to the track cuz he babies it too dam much :mad: His Chevelle is almost done though :naughty: He did however race my younger bro's Lightning the other night. Funny thing is that when my car blew, I was running against him!

yea that carbon buildup on the tb and in the intake is normal...it is because of our egr valve dumping exhaust back into the intake.
