  • Snowboarding question

I currently have a burton board with burton bindings and was thinking about getting a new board. I was going to get something different then a burton and I know that if you have a buron board you can only use burton bindings, but can I use my burton bindings on another board?

    Re: Snowboarding question

Judging from pictures they look the same as any other binding. So unless they are using a different bolt pattern I don't see why you couldn't reuse them. Why don't you find a local shop and ask them or test it out? If you don't want to do that measure it and I'll compare it to my Forum board.

hey man you can switch out any borad with any bindings... just go to a good shop not like a cheap little run down place..and they should have some little center plates that you can swap out... what kind of board were you thinking...

        Re: Snowboarding question

I was thinking about either going with a Forum or a Nitro. I'm still looking but I don't think I want another burton. I will probably go ask a shop, but I was just wondering if burton made the bindings only fit on their boards or if they let you put them on other brands as well, because the burton boards have 3 bolt pattern.

I love my forum, except for the price tag that was on it.

            Ride makes a good board

Yes you can swap out bindings... what size board do you ride ?

                  Re: Snowboarding question

ok, i rock a burton board (baron... i LOVE it.) but i have flow bindings (i have burton bindings also, but i could never give up my flows). its not a problem. all you do is get a different plate to screw the binding into the board.

as far as putting burton bindings on another board. i have 2 questions.
                  1. why the hell are you not getting another burton?? it better be one hell of a board, thats all i can say.
                  2. why keep burton bindings? they are nothing special, to tell you the truth. if i was going with old school bindings, i would get some drakes. best "clasp" style binding ive ever used. but otherwise, i strongly suggest flow. if you arent familiar with them, you basically slide your boot into them, and then pull the ankle support, and flip the thing closed. they give just as much support as other bindings, better feel around your foot, and so much easier to use in the cold. i can take my foot in and out while moving, so its much easier when the terrain is flat and you dont want to lose your momentum to undo your bindings.

                  just my $.02 though.

Yeah I know about flow bindings. I'm just looking to get a different board because my current one isn't in the best condition. I figured I would try another brand outside of burton, nothing against burton.

                      ok, thats cool.
ive ridden k2, volkl (only board i liked was given to me by someone on the italian national team, whole board was that grip stuff that is on skateboards. it was insane) and burton... i started with a custom, and now im on to a baron. theyre the best boards ive ever ridden/had any experience with.

let me know what you end up with, im always curious to hear about other stuff.

I don't have much money right now, but I'm hoping for an early christmas present from my parents. I let you know if I get something, but it will probably be still a while before I can use it.
