  • My car got hit...... its not too bad.

So I was coming back from doing an interview and found a parking spot, as I was going in I was caddy-corner so I decided to straiten it out. I put the car in reverse and waited a while for it to catch the gear, than a Honda Accord ran into my back side. The cops couldn't come because the campus is on Private Property, so we exchanged info and I talked to my dad who said the insurance company will probably do nothing anyway....... so this is kinda sucky. Here are some pictures. Any tips on what to do?

I parked my car after he left, but my cars rear was at about the black line behind the white parking spot line. You can kinda see where some water from my exhaust was.

I think some of it can come off with a good wash, but my left tip is bent , and tilted at a weird angle.

almost the same thing happened to me, I went to a do it yourself car wash and hit the spot with the pressure washer and almost all of it came right off. Good luck to ya, man.

God, there's gotta be something to straighten the tip out. Maybe a muffler shop can heat it up with a torch and get it back to shape with some tools. As for the giant scuff, I've had a LOT of luck with Liquid Glass Pre-cleaner. It comes in a small bottle. It'll take the scuff mark off if you rub it out with a soft cloth. I don't think I'd have that buffed off because GM doesn't put a lot of paint on the rear or front bumpers of the car. But either way, that'll come out of the paint unless there are deep scratches into the primer...

Speaking from body shop experience and having fixed that exact damage, its going to cost $525-$550. If the insurance company wont do anything and it will cost less than your dedutctable or close to it, if you still have my phone number, call me and I'll help ya take care of about 40% of the cost. If you dont have my number, hit me up via PM.

I'll have ya bring it to my garage, we'll take the bumper off, scuff it and then you can just have a shop simply paint the bumper and we can put it back on saving you a TON of labor costs. You'll just have to pay for paint/clearcoat. Just give me a buzz bro. :)
