I remember being at a football game in high school (probably 2001 or 2002) and I saw someone in the bleachers actually talking on one of those things.

They still work, but their days are numberered being that the phone companies want to turn off analog to free up more airspace or whatever. I don't know about the brick, but bag and car phones supposedly still have awesome service because they're 3 watt and I think portable phones are only something like 0.5 watt.

I honestly can't remember what a bag phone looked like, but I remember my dad telling me that his great uncles '68 Cadillac having an actual rotary phone in it. I don't think it was a GM option, but more of a accessory added to it, kinda like an aftermarket DVD player or such.

I remember the bag phones, my grandparents had one.

Makes some sense, more power, better broadcast and reception.



I saw the brick style one a few years ago in a good will LOL...

Its amazing how technology has changed... My cellphone is lightyears more advanced then the rocket they sent to the moon.

I aquired a phone like this one , only a little bit bigger, back in the day durring my "youthful indescretion" period :rolleyes: ;)

LOL...oh man!!

I remember in the '80's how being were being shot or killed because of a cell phone like that in LA. That was really stupid because now cells are everywhere.

I would keep that if I were you. 50 years from now, that would be an antic and it would be worth a lot of money.
