from what ive read you dont HAVE to remove the rad, which obviously you just showed us. but look what happened.

nice job and congrats on getting it out!
Taking the radiator out would have given them about 6" or so more room to pull the engine out. Its worth pulling it out over bashing the hell out of it and possibly cracking it.

You say there were bolts holding it in??? Was that some kind of body change thing they did in 1998 or something? I know when I removed the radiator from the Firebird, there wasn't one bolt holding the radiator itself in, only 4 screws that held the plastic housing in place that held the radiator. Once those screws were removed on that plastic housing, the radiator just slid out, along with the AC condenser. Didn't think it changed though....

there we ac lines running to the condensor, and also some lines from the tranny to the condensor, somehow these bolts became stripped and we were not able to to remove the lines. SO whn we pulled the tranny we were abl to disc the remaining lines, but by then the engine was already over the radiator. Oh well, no big deal.

ripping it out is the easy part... putting it back in is the hard part

like i said, its not that I flat out said no, we are no removing the radiator, we phyisically could not, there were too many stripped bolts on it that were still holding lines and place and it was not that big of a deal. If i would have paid a little more attention that radiator would have been completely fine all together it can be left in nooooo problem. people say the same thing about cam swaps and honestly if you tolf me you removed your fans for that, I would tell you you just wasted your time.

He didnt put in an L32 3.4, its the 3.8 L32 that is built with lower compression, forged internals and ready for boost from the factory. I believe the 'new' L32 is the Series III 3.8 but I could be wrong about that. I know its confusing, I thought the same thing at first

Shodown is correct. The L32 is the supercharged series 3 3800. The na series 3 is the L26.

The blocks are the same. A setup for the L36 block is interchangeable for the 67/32/26 blocks....of course you cant take sc from a 67/32 and call it a day.:poke:

benefits from the L32 also include 8.5:1 compression.
