    Re: Taking risks...

been with her for 4 years...

she doesnt fly either, its too risky...shes seen plane crashes and now she refuses to fly.

I do need to get a jacket, i need to get a new bike first!

theres a few things i need to work on, like not wearing flip-flops on a motorcycle on the interstate... ( only happened twice )

sounds like maybe you need to take her up skydiving to get her over her fears.

          Re: Taking risks...

obviously motorcycles are more dangerous.. but here's a nice little statistic:

Motorcycles are 0.3 percent of all vehicle miles traveled (VMT) but account for over 8 percent of total fatalities on the road.

when i got in my motorcycle accident, i was wearing flip flops... oops!

yes, its dangerous. no one can deny it. there are many ways to make it safer though.
what it all comes down to for me, is that im not trying to save myself to be nice and healthy when i die. i want to die doing stuff that i enjoy. i just really dont see the point of stressing, and being paranoid about all of these dangerous things. im not going to give up doing things that i love doing, just so i get an open casket funeral. no one wants to see dead people no matter what.

I'd rather die 72 and pretty and pass up a few opportunities, than 25 and mangled.

Whaaaat? But dieing young is so romantic! And the more spectacular the better! Look at James Dean: He died in a fiery crash while speeding down a country road in his open top Porsche, and now hes a legend. How cool is that?

and Wow StrtRacer98, i'm surprized your girlfriend even comitted to a relationship. What with the risks of getting pregnant/breaking up and all ;)

                        Re: Taking risks...

LOL. Riding with flip flops is dumb, but cmon guys, not to the point of this. Riding without a jacket or gloves is just as bad or worse. I think a lot of people are still thinking of when they were younger and their mothers yelled at them for riding their bicycle without sneakers :p. Boots will just save your feet from road rash, but what about the rest of your body?

If you want to get technical, my boot laces came loose one ride and sucked into the chain. Luckily it shreded the tie before yanking my foot, :).

You're missing out buddy. Do you snowboard or ski? Or you afraid you'll hit a tree? Everyones diff, some people think the opportunity is worth the risk.

Surely you must do something risky.

sex is risky... probably more so than riding motorcycles naked, these days.
